Genesis 19-20; Psalm 1; Mark 7

Three observations from today’s passage:
Genesis 19: The tragedy of Lot. Initially making his economic interests the guiding principle of his life (Genesis 13), Lot suffered a complete loss. He lost all his possessions, his home, and the city where he lived. Most tragically, he lost his family. Despite having faith in his soul, his life spoke of the importance of earthly values. He couldn't persuade his adult children to leave Sodom and lost his wife, who, although physically leaving Sodom, was still attached to it in her heart. Even his two surviving daughters, corrupted in their hearts, became the cause of two nations that became a significant problem for Israel for generations.
Psalm 1: "But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night." The importance of meditating on God's Word throughout the day. When we read God's truth, we internalize it. It allows viewing various situations during the day through the lens of this truth. That is what meditation on the Word is. The more we do this, the more our souls are enriched, and the stronger and more fruitful we become.
Mark 7:8-9: The biggest problem with traditions is that they replace God's commandments. Instead of focusing on God's truth, people affirm human ideas.
