A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.
Matthew 5:14

Welcome to another special Church Day celebration!
The Lord has graced us with another year, and our hearts overflow with gratitude for His endless goodness. Church Day is a wonderful time to refocus our hearts on the Lord and reflect on His blessings. Even though we see sin looming larger in our culture and the adversary's attacks on the Church and individual believers intensify, God continues to pour out His grace, allowing us to carry forth the mission of the Gospel —inside our walls and far beyond.
Today, we give special thanks to the Lord for His love, faithfulness, protection, and care for our local church. We’re grateful for each of you—your generosity, your service, your involvement, your open hearts, and your willingness to follow Christ. We thank God for the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives, for the spiritual growth He brings, and for His power that helps us overcome challenges and trials.

The theme of our celebration this year is “A City on a Hill” (Matthew 5:14). This image speaks of visibility, influence, and responsibility. The life of the Church—and the life of every believer—truly flourishes when we’re not only recipients of God’s life, but also carriers of it, becoming sources of His light for others.
Being a vessel of God’s salvation is both a privilege and a responsibility—and it’s a tremendous blessing. To live this out, we need to keep growing in our knowledge of Jesus Christ, filling our lives with His presence—His love, joy, peace, and confidence—so that His life overflows from us into service to those around us. Over the years, God has enabled our church to share the Good News with millions—from our neighbors here in Battle Ground to people in the most distant parts of the world. Today, we give thanks for everyone who carries the light of the Gospel: those who share Christ with neighbors and coworkers, who serve in camps and missions, who teach, sing, translate, organize concerts, write music, and work in Media Ministry.

But above all, we thank God for Jesus Christ, for the saving Gospel, and the Holy Spirit, who continues to work in and through us. We humbly celebrate not our merits, but God’s grace. May this day deepen our understanding of the richness of God’s grace and the joy that comes from sharing it with others.
